Shenzhen, China (October 30, 2013):  Representatives from 10 of the Global Security Industry Alliance’s (GSIA) 35 alliance member countries, met today with national and local Chinese government officials at the Futian District government office in Shenzhen, China to discuss global trade and commerce issues facing the security industry.

“Economic growth based on sound targeted investment constitutes the backbone of most government programs. In Shenzhen, the development of the security industry is more than 30 years and Shenzhen has now become the world's largest security product manufacturing and distribution market,” said Richard Chace, Chairman of GSIA. “Shenzhen is not only enjoying the status of being a ‘champion security city’ in China but has also left its imprint on the International map, especially during the CPSE and GSIA congress.”

Statistics reveal that there are over 4300 security industry-oriented businesses in Shenzhen engaging in manufacturing, R&D as well as OEM production. Annual output value of security industry sector in Shenzhen constitutes 60% of the total output value in China, reaching 97 billion Yuan. The Chinese security industry's contribution in total GDP of Shenzhen is around 5%. Tax contribution from the security industry accounts for 5% of Shenzhen local tax revenue.

The Security Industry has kept pace with the development of Shenzhen and it will continue to grow with further investment.

The meeting was organized by the GSIA with the objective of fostering better understanding between the security industry and various government departments for favorable local regulations, government endorsement and speedy administration examination approvals which will help in acceleration development of the security industry in Shenzhen.
