ALAS (the Latin American Security Association) was founded in 1997 to educate, set standards, and raise the level of professionalism in the Latin American Security Industry. ALAS counts with the support of major manufacturers from all over the world and has more than 450 members from distribution and integration companies in Latin America. ALAS has certified over 7.000 security professionals in the region in the fields of burglar alarms, access control, CCTV, perimeter security, fire alarms, project management and integration of security systems. ALAS has also created a forum for managers of security companies, the ALAS Management Summit, held annually in different countries of Latin America.
